For construction to thrive, now and in the future, we need a fully-trained, skilled workforce. ConstructionSkills was set up to deliver an industry-standard method of training and certificating for anyone who works in construction. The ConstructionSkills Welsh office works directly with regional offices in the UK and Northern Ireland to provide adequate training and funding where it is needed.

The primary role of Construction Excellence in Wales (CEW) is to raise awareness of the need to improve working practices within the industry itself. This is achieved through seminars, workshops and other events, all of which are free of charge. CEW is supported by the construction industry and the Welsh Assembly Government and works alongside a network of regional Constructing Excellence centers through the UK.

The Welsh Assembly Government is responsible for developing and
implementing policies and programmes for all issues that have been
devolved to Wales. The first Minister, the Rt Hon Rhodri Morgan AM, leads
the Assembly Government and chairs a Cabinet of eight other MInisters.
All Ministers are accountable to the Assembly and its committees for all
that they do.
